Thank you to all of the talented baseball players who tried out on August 14th and August 22nd! We saw many excellent players at each age level, which makes the coaches' decisions very difficult in choosing players for each team. The coaches hope to make all of those decisions by September 1st, and players will then be contacted by the coaches.

If you are a player who is interested in being a 'Stormer but you were unable to attend a tryout, there is still time! The Lancaster Junior Barnstormers will be having individual evaluations until September 19th to field a second team in each of the age divisions 9U-18U. After a 9-week tournament layoff, the LJB 11u Red team returned to action July 30-August 1, 2010.  The LJB 11u Red finished third in the Sports at the Beach “Seahorse Showdown,” while scoring the most runs of any team in the tournament.  

One week later, from August 6-8, 2010, the LJB 11u Red team captured the ECTB “National Championship Series” title with multiple, inspired, team-focused performances.

The LJB 11u Red have become a team defined by their relentless, positive response to adversity.  Congratulations!

The LJB 12U Red team overcame extreme heat and storms this past weekend to take home the Ripken High Heat Classic Championship. They had a record of 5-0 while giving up a total of 18 runs and scoring 54. This is their 3rd tournament Championship this season!

The 10U Red team wrapped up its spring/summer season with another tournament championship! This weekend's (July 24-25) Blue Mountain Battle FSTB tournament in Hershey was shortened to a one-day event due to severe thunderstorms, but the team came out with blazing bats on Saturday to outscore their opponents 24 to 3! Their performance on Saturday gave them the number one seed out of ten teams and ultimately the tournament title. The 10U Red team earned two first place finishes and two second place finishes this year...not bad for a group of nine and ten year-olds who never played tournament baseball before this year! Congratulations!
