The Fall 2010 - Summer 2011 Tryouts for the 10U through 15U teams will be on August 14th, 2010 at 8am and on Sunday August 22nd, 2010 at 12 noon at Hempfield High School. A player's age is based on his age on April 30, 2011. (Players considered to be 9U are welcome to tryout, too! 16U and 18U tryout dates are still TBD.) All players are encouraged to register at our online registration site. Tryouts cost $25 per player, and that fee can be paid via cash or check during check-in at the tryout.

Players should check-in at the Hempfield High School Varsity Baseball Field 15-30 minutes before the start of the tryout and bring their baseball equipment (cleats, glove, bat, etc.) as well as plenty to drink to stay hydrated.

Players should only attend one of the tryout dates. Some players who attended the August 14th tryout might be asked to attend the August 22nd tryout so the coaches can get another look at your skills. If you attended the August 14th tryout and are not asked to attend the August 22nd tryout, that does not mean you did not make the team!

Thank you to the players who attended the first tryout session - it was great to see so many high-quality players. We are looking forward to the August 22nd tryouts to see another group of skilled baseball players. As of now, we are especially interested in seeing additional 9-10 year-olds and 12 year-olds. (With a few more quality players, we will be able to add additional teams!)

The Lancaster Junior Barnstormers provide high quality instruction to field competitive teams with numerous championships earned at Sports at the Beach, Ripken Baseball, Triple Crown, Cooperstown Dreams Park, ECTB and Future Stars tournaments. We also strive to make each player a well-rounded person through community service projects including Lancaster General Hospital blood drives, clothing/food collections for natural disaster victims, Christmas gift collections for underprivileged children, etc.

The Lancaster Junior Barnstormers want to make high quality tournament baseball as affordable as possible while providing great opportunities for baseball players! The fee for the 2010-2011 season will be $850 per player. That fee includes all insurance fees, two uniforms, tournament registration fees, outdoor facilities and indoor facilities. For your convenience, an installment payment plan will be available.

NEW THIS YEAR: The fee also includes a one-year membership to the Centrally Located Lanco Fieldhouse Baseball Facilities, which includes batting cages, pitching lanes, soft-toss/tee stations, and a large open area for drills, groundball practice, etc. (Our fee for a one-year membership alone is an exceptional value when compared to other indoor baseball facilities.)

FOR RETURNING PLAYERS: Please note that in previous years we operated on a "pay as you go" plan (registration fee, uniform purchase, indoor workout costs, etc.). This year's single fee (a) includes those items, (b) is equal to or less than last year's fees, and (c) includes an unlimited membership to the Lanco Fieldhouse's baseball facilities.
